Suminia was a species of synapsid that lived in central Russia during the late Paleozoic.
It was half a meter long, had a long, thick neck, a slender body, long legs, large hands, and a long, muscular tail. In his strange mouth, his wide and serrated teeth that fit into each other.
Paleontologists have concluded that Suminia was an arboreal animal, using a pincer grasp, the first known to us.
The shape of the body and tail support this interpretation. The tail was probably prehensile, serving as a fifth hand.
